Key Laboratory of Special Processing in Jiangsu Province, relying on Changzhou Institute of Technology, was approved by the Jiangsu Education Department for construction in 2011. The laboratory conducts basic and applied basic research on special processing in the field of national science and technology development strategy (advanced manufacturing technology), continuously refining scientific issues, and innovating special processing methods. In the frontier field of local scientific and technological needs, we will strengthen the research on special processing technology for industrial needs, improve the compounding, integration and automation level of special processing equipment, and develop towards the purpose of complete sets, intelligence and precision. The main research directions of the laboratory include electrochemical machining technology, and precision electrochemical machining, forming the research characteristics of hard-to-cut materials and difficult-to-machine parts .

The laboratory is located in the Tianquan Building, Changzhou Institute of Technology. The laboratory area is 2,500 square meters, and there are 180 sets of various instruments and equipment, with a total value of more than 16.9 million yuan. The laboratory functions are clearly set and the layout is reasonable. The laboratory has a team of young and middle-aged professors and doctors as the backbone, with a reasonable structure of professional titles and a combination of full- and part-time talents. Among the full- and part-time researchers, there are 15 professors, 14 associate professors and 25 doctors. Among the academic backbones, there are 1 young and middle-aged science and technology leader in Jiangsu Province's 333 High-level Talents Training Project (second level), 6 academic leaders (third level), 3 Six Peak talents, and 1 young and middle-aged academic leader in Qinglan Project and 4 excellent young teachers.
