The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering/ Flight College (herein referred to as SAME/FC) is a secondary teaching unit, established for training aviation and intelligent manufacturing talents under Changzhou Institute of Technology. The school was established by the merger of the Departmengt of Engineering and the College of Civil Aviation Flight College. The school has established cooperative relationships with universities such as RWTH Aachen University in Germany and Massey University in New Zealand.
At present, SAME/FC consists of five departments, namely, Department of Materials and Advanced Forming, Department of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Department of Mechanical engineering, Department of Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering, Department of Transportation Engineering. In addition, the school has one research institute and three centers, including Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, Aviation and Manufacturing Engineering Industry Education Center, Practical Teaching Operation and Management Center, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineer Training Center.
SAME/FC currently has 134 staff, including 96 full-time teachers (73 of whom have doctor's degrees), 1 double-appointed academician, 1 expert from the National Thousand Talents Program, 1 person enjoying State Council allowances, 13 professors, 32 associate professors and senior engineers. The school engages in visionary research projects to meet future demands and enjoy extensive influence of several research areas in China.
