Overview
The engineering training center of Changzhou Institute of Technology has a usable area of 12,800 square meters, a total value of teaching instruments and equipment of 46.37 million yuan, and 110 faculty members. It undertakes the teaching tasks of 24 majors such as professional foundation, professional experiments and training, including mechanical design and manufacturing automation, material forming and control engineering, mechanical and electronic engineering, vehicle engineering, automotive service engineering, electronic information engineering, electronic science and technology, electrical engineering and automation, measurement and control technology and instrument, optoelectronic information engineering. The center is open to all students in the school, and at the same time provides services for students' innovative education and training, subject competitions and other educational and teaching activities.
The center consists of four teaching departments, including the engineering awareness training department, the engineering technology basic training department, the engineering comprehensive training department and the innovative practice training department. At present, there are 110 faculty members, including 74 full-time employees and 24 part-time employees. There are 14 professors, 27 associate professors, 24 engineers and 5 technicians in the teaching team. Among the teaching staff, there are 7 trainees of Jiangsu Province's 333 High-level Talents Training Project, 8 trainees of Jiangsu Province's Qinglan Project, 23 employees with doctoral degrees, and 25 employees with master's degrees. The proportion of employees with doctoral and master’s degrees is 65.8%; the number of employees aged 30-50 is 48, accounting for 65.8% of the total employees.
During the construction period of 2019, a total of 2.8 million yuan for the purchase of new equipment was invested, of which the central government invested 2 million yuan; the certification of all equipment purchases plans and equipment bidding work has been completed, and part of the purchase orders has got paid.
The Engineering Training Center, together with Nanfang Bearing, New United Group, and Changzhou Longlongsheng Warp Knitting Co., Ltd., has newly built 40 fixed practice teaching bases for students to carry out the cognition practice, production practice, graduation practice, graduation design, and innovation and entrepreneurship practice activities for college students.

Teaching philosophy and reform ideas:
People-oriented; let every student succeed; close to engineering practice. At the operational level, both knowledge construction and ability training are emphasized, and practical teaching and theoretical teaching are given equal attention.
Achievements in the construction of teaching system and teaching content, teaching methods and teaching means:
(1) Focus on strengthening engineering practice and innovation capabilities, according to the specific requirements of engineering majors, we fully integrate into talent training modes of 2+1+1 (non-pilot for mechanical engineering), 3+1 (excellence plan) and 3 +4” (joint secondary vocational and undergraduate), participate in the construction of related majors, and innovate the training plan for mechanical professionals.
(2) Decompose the tasks according to the five modules of application-oriented talent training, comprehensively optimize and reorganize the resources of the engineering center, actively undertake the writing of teaching materials or guidance books for engineering training courses, and participate in the construction of courses and teaching materials required for professional teaching.
(3) Actively explore a new model of industry-education integration, take the engineering training center as the base, integrate the resources of other schools and local enterprises, and coordinate government, industry, academia and research to create a group of school-level engineering practice teaching that meets the needs of mechanical majors to implement enterprise learning and practice base.
(4) According to the needs of engineering practice ability training and the connotation construction and professional development of mechanical majors, through external introduction and internal training, we build a full- and part-time team with a wide range of academic backgrounds, reasonable age and professional titles of the high-level teaching team. Experimental teaching effect and teaching achievement
Focusing on the requirements for the construction of engineering practice ability of applied talents with aviation characteristics, the X+Y reform of talent training modes of aviation majors such as 3+1, 4+1, 2+2 and 3+2 was carried out in conjunction with Shenzhen General Aviation Aircraft Industry Group. Theoretical education was carried out in X years. In Y years, the engineering center cooperates closely with the company to expand service capabilities and training levels, and cultivate comprehensive innovation capabilities; Aiming at serving the aviation industry, the mechanical major carries out the research and reform of the 2+1+1 talent training, the 3+1 talent training for the pilot major of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineer Program, and the “3+4” segmented training mode for secondary vocational and undergraduate, so as to form the construction of engineering training scheme and innovative model. On the whole, we try to divide the practical teaching courses and projects into three levels: basic level, improvement level and research innovation level, and construct a system consisting of engineering knowledge practice, engineering technology basic practice, engineering comprehensive practice and innovation practice training. The new practice teaching system is implemented according to this system. Engineering cognition practice consists of two modules: engineering technology cognition and professional thinking training, which cultivates the sense of professional identity and stimulates students' professional interest and thirst for knowledge. By combing and reorganizing the teaching contents of experiments, training and internships of various courses, 262 experiments and internships (training) projects have been determined in 78 practical courses covering 26 majors in the engineering training center, which constitute the above 16 modules, of which 65% are improved, research and innovative experiments and internships (training).
The training plan formulated by the center has been carefully implemented and achieved certain results. The actual level of students mastering the basic theories and basic skills of their major is relatively high, and the students' innovative spirit and practical ability have been enhanced. In terms of practical teaching, the Changzhou Aerospace Information Application Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Alliance has been actively formed, and together with China Aviation Development Lanxiang Machinery Co., Ltd., it has actively applied for the Jiangsu provincial general aircraft key components intelligent cycle manufacturing engineering research center. This year, it also fully exploited the unique advantages of Liyang Zhuze Town, a green town in the foundry industry, and jointly applied with Liyang Wansheng Foundry Co., Ltd. for the green manufacturing engineering technology research center for the core components of high-speed rail braking systems in Jiangsu Province. Actively we use enterprise resources to jointly build a high-end inspection tool scientific research and trial production center with Changzhou Juzhuyou Auto Parts Co., Ltd, which has played an active role in jointly building a student internship platform, cooperating in scientific research and discipline laboratories, and incubating innovation and entrepreneurship projects. This year, we actively explored school-enterprise cooperation in running schools, actively connected with AAC Technologies, and cooperated with Changzhou Qihang service outsourcing Co., Ltd., Changzhou Xinhua General Aviation Co., Ltd., Jiangsu APT Energy Equipment Co., Ltd., San Nini (Changzhou) Auto Parts Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Haobang Intelligent Control System Co., Ltd. The center and enterprises jointly build a precision manufacturing technology practice education base, an intelligent equipment practice education base, and a digital design practice education base jointly established with Changzhou Longlongsheng Warp Knitting Machinery Co., Ltd. and a number of practical teaching bases jointly established with Changzhou Baoling Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd. and Amphenol automotive and other enterprises not only provide students stable practice places, but also deepen students' engineering practice ability. A number of enterprise-named classes (Kehua Holdings, etc.) have been established, and a number of teaching laboratories have been jointly established (Changzhou Zebang Braking Equipment Co., Ltd. Motion Control Technology Joint Laboratory, etc.). All these provide a good teaching platform for cultivating students' experimental innovation ability and engineering practice ability. This year, 3 innovation and entrepreneurship laboratories were built, 5 innovation and entrepreneurship courses and 2 school-level industry education integration demonstration courses were carried out. This year, the mechanical design and manufacturing automation specialty passed the brand professional acceptance, was approved as a provincial first-class specialty, and has been recommended to apply for a national first-class specialty. This year, the major of mechanical design and manufacturing automation successfully passed the on-site inspection of certified experts on the engineering education. In terms of education and teaching reform, 1 education reform project of the Ministry of Education and 1 provincial educational reform project are under study, 1 project is completed; 2 provincial online open courses, 1 provincial teaching achievement award cultivation project, and 2 provincial key teaching materials were achieved; 1 school-level golden course project, and 1 school-level key teaching material for the integration of production and education. The micro-course of Mechanical Manufacturing Technology was selected into the Xuexi platform. Mechanical Design and Manufacturing was awarded the school-level excellent teaching team. We won the third prize of the provincial micro-class competition. We won one first prize and one third prize in the school-level lecture competition. We won 2 provincial excellent graduation designs, 13 school-level excellent graduation designs, and 1 school-level excellent graduation design team. 2 papers on education and teaching have been accepted by Chinese core journals.
We organize students to actively participate in various disciplines, innovation and entrepreneurship activities and competitions, they won 16 innovation and entrepreneurship projects for college students above the provincial level in 2019, and 136 school-level key projects. They won 4 national awards and 20 provincial awards in the 2019 National Innovation Competition. This year, the number of patents applied by students reached 8, and the first author of the students published 1 academic paper.
The engineering education certification of mechanical design and manufacturing automation has successfully completed the entrance examination of experts, and started the engineering education certification of material forming and control engineering.
We give full play to the advantages of majors and disciplines, actively carry out school-enterprise cooperation, and actively explore school-enterprise cooperation in running schools, successively cooperate with AAC Technologies, publicize and cooperate in continuing education enrollment with Changzhou Qihang service outsourcing Co., Ltd., Changzhou Xinhua General Aviation Co., Ltd., Jiangsu APT Energy Equipment Co., Ltd., San Nini (Changzhou) Auto Parts Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Haobang Intelligent Control System Co., Ltd. The number of students enrolled in the school enterprise cooperation class in the whole year was 165. We have actively carried out senior technicians and secondary technicians training with Changzhou Shengshida Automobile Air Conditioning Pipeline Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Changli Machine Tool Co., Ltd., a total of 90 people has completed the training, and the training hours are 112 hours. The training hours from Changzhou Changli Machine Tool Co., Ltd. are 40. Through in-depth cooperation with enterprises, we have strengthened the integration of industry and education with enterprises.
A complete practical and innovative education system of the School of Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering has been constructed, the open and shared practice platform for innovation and entrepreneurship education developed for the whole school has been officially launched, and the 2019 College Innovation (Entrepreneurship) Competition has been successfully held; We will continue to track the frontier development of disciplines and steadily carry out discipline construction and key laboratory construction.
The college takes the initiative to contact experts to carry out targeted general counseling and personalized guidance for teachers to apply for natural fund projects. In 2019, we obtained the following scientific research achievements: 1 provincial achievement transformation fund project, 3 provincial forward-looking plan-industrial support plan projects, 1 Changzhou applied basic research project, 1 Changzhou science and technology support project, and 1 third prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Award, commercial and government-sponsored research funds of more than 12 million yuan, 60 invention patents applied, 35 invention patents authorized, 1 scientific research platform above the provincial and ministerial level, and 4 achievements identified by the Machinery Industry Federation.
Experimental team building
We will strengthen the adjustment of the organizational structure of the team, pay attention to optimizing the structure of teachers' academic qualifications and professional titles, and strengthen the introduction of teachers. During the year, 14 doctors and 2 PhD returnees were introduced.
By strengthening the on-the-job training of experimental teachers and encouraging young teachers to participate in academic training, we have created a practice teaching and management team with high quality, strong ability, harmony and dedication. We actively carry out the work of mentoring and apprentice pairing for new teachers, 14 newly introduced teachers and 14 senior teachers form professional mentoring, and the work content and assessment methods are stipulated in the form of documents. We actively encourage teachers to pursue doctoral degrees, implement the goal of doctor's degree for full-time teachers, and optimize the structure of teachers. Young and middle-aged teachers are encouraged to participate in scientific research, experiments, and participate in the construction and reform of laboratories. Full-time teachers are required to have relevant engineering practice experience, and teachers are planned to be sent to engineering positions in contracted bases to update engineering knowledge, master new practical skills, and enrich experience in engineering practice. It attaches great importance to the self-cultivation of talents, encourages and supports teachers to pursue doctoral degrees on-the-job; we actively promote the internationalization of teachers, and 3 teachers go abroad for study (1 of them to Australia, 1 to New Zealand, and 1 to Germany); we vigorously promote the training of double-qualified teachers, and 2 teachers participate in the temporary training of the head of science and technology town. Hiring enterprise engineering technicians as part-time teachers has achieved remarkable results.
It attaches great importance to the talent project, actively cultivates and recommends all kinds of talents training and promotion objects at all levels according to the standards, 1 person was approved as the backbone teacher in the “Qinglan Project”, 2 people were selected into the Young Scholars Support Program, 2 people were promoted to professor and 2 to associate professor.

From the perspective of innovative training in mechanical engineering disciplines, it has built a number of innovative platforms such as 3D printing, modular robots, mobile robots, Freescale smart cars, precision measurement, precision transmission, advanced processing, etc. Provide students with all-round innovative training programs, school-level, provincial-level, and national-level college students' practical innovation training programs, discipline competition programs, and engineering practice competition programs, which not only ensure that all students have sufficient learning and training platforms to obtain innovative credits, but also provide students with rich training contents of mechanical engineering.

The school and New United Group and The People's Government of Changzhou Xinbei District jointly built the CIT- New United Group Innovation Park, and cooperated with Longlongsheng Warp Knitting Machinery Co., Ltd. jointly built a precision testing laboratory in the school. In terms of the construction of the center's practice base, it has completed an integrated development base for comprehensive industry-university research cooperation. As of 2019, 75 off-campus practice bases have been signed, of which 29 are listed off-campus practice bases for key cooperation. It carried out deeply integrated development with Kehua Holdings, and established the Kehua Holdings titled class. At present, a total of 5 enterprises have cooperated in in-depth integrated development, and 5 enterprise titled classes have been established.
